Wrist Sprain

GENERAL INFORMATION

A wrist sprain occurs when there is an injury to the ligaments in the wrist. Ligaments are bands of tissue that connect bone and muscle together. Pain and loss of function can result when ligaments are torn or overextended. Severe sprains can completely tear the ligament and even chip the bones in the wrist requiring surgery.
